Yeah, the fairs here in the Chicago area I’ve been to will also often have walking tacos in my experience. My kids summer camp has had them, as well. The Mexican snack shops/michoacanas will all have some version of them (though often made witih spicy Cheetos or Doritos instead of Fritos.) They’ll give you a fork with them, usually, but you can walk around and eat them with your hands, too. I eat it walking around at the local church fairs during the summer.
