NB? AMAB? Good God, people, what do those terms mean?
Assigned Male At Birth.
NB in this context? No clue.
Non-Binary
This is me as well and today I learned that that’s privilege that’s coming out of my ears; all this time I thought it was hair.
I identify as a woman
Thanks. I’m a retired neonatal nurse and all I could think of was NB ~ newborn and I was sure that wasn’t it. Sadly, I will probably forget NB~non binary by the time it next rolls around, but I’ll try. The rest of you, stay out of my newborn nursery.
Okay, what does that mean?
Welcome aboard, @stardust_melody! Stay out of the BBQ Pit until you feel more comfortable. Or forever. They use rough language there.
I was factory issued with female-type bits. I’m not especially attached to being female as an identity, but I don’t feel strongly enough about it to object. There’s probably a word for that, but I don’t feel strongly enough about it to look it up either.
My factory-issued male-type bits are all worn out now, and sadly I’m out of warranty. Happily, my husband will love me no matter how many feet (and other body parts) I have in the grave.
Analog.
He’s old.
I am a cisgender male.
Oh. Normal. Thanks.
Non-binary.
Nonbinary mostly means the same thing as “genderqueer” — “An identity vocabulary of only two possibilities is insufficient to explain someone like me” in the case of non-binary, and “queer, instead of normative, gender-wise” in the case of genderqueer.
Edited to Add: In other words, “etcetera”.
Those of us who choose either of those identifiers (yeah, I do, for the benefit of those who aren’t well aware) do not necessarily have an immense amount in common with others who do likewise. I can give you a brief rundown
Subtypes:
agender = not into any gender identity thank you very much
demigirl = I got times when I’m kinda femme and days when I’m more agenderish or neuter-ish
demiboy = same idea except kinda masc
genderfluid = my gender identity shifts… it may mean I have boy days and girl days but it may mean instead that I am demigirl some of the time and agender at other times. Or it may mean that for seven years at a stretch I was a boy-person and for the last three I’ve been more of a girl-person.
bigender = not BIG ENDER but rather Bi-GENDER, two gender identities coexisting somehow
gender invert = not so fluid, this would be male girls and female boys, gender not matching sex
butch = masc but not (necessarily) identifying as man or male
femme = feminine but not (necessarily) identifying as woman or female
hetero-manvestite
Computer programming humor I get. The rest of your post not so much, and I will need to work on it if I get curious.
I identify as male. Not that I’m getting much use out of it these days.
Male, cis, het.
After reading this, I feel farther from understanding anything.
The doctor looked at my naughty bits on that long-ago December morning and said “It’s a girl!” He was right.
