Just when you think you’ve seen everything, you go to a hip little Spanish restaurant on vacay in Dallas, and for dessert they have something you’ve never heard of mixed in with the tiramisu and the creme brulee: tres leches, spongy cake with sweet milky sauce on it. And it’s fantastic. I mean, really really good. I should know, it happened to me.
And I can’t find it in my mother’s vast trove of cookbooks. Does anyone know a recipe? I’m guessing it’s not Spanish, either, so where is it from? Thanks, y’all.
