Nicaraguan Recipes/Tres Leches

For Spanish class, I have to find and make a Nicaraguan speciality. An Google search returns a few meat dishes, as well as one type of cake - Tres Leches. Seems easy enough, but I’m bombarded by the myriad recipes. Does anybody have a tried and true recipe for it or another simple Nicaraguan recipe? Thanks.

I used to work for a restaurant that served Mexican/Central American dishes, and one of the things I made on a regular basis was Tres Leches Cake. Unfortunately, the recipe I used takes two days of prepping everything before you can serve it, so it’s probably more difficult than you’ll want to do for class.

A simple way to do Tres Leches cake is to soak store-bought pound-cake (trim off the crusts) with the 3-milk mixture (I used a combination of condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk), and top cake with homemade whipped cream.
I don’t know if you’ve been by this page. It seems full of other recipes: http://www.deliciousindia.com/InternationalRecipes/central_america.htm#Recipes%20from%20Nicaragua

We just recently had a discussion on tres leches, including a personal recipe:

Thanks for the link, Earthling. With a forum as large as this, I guess pretty much everything has been discussed at some time or another. I really need to learn how to use the search thing - I never get any good results.
I did see that page, but thanks for looking, JavaMaven1.
