Top two drawers of the dresser are mine. Undies and socks in the top drawer, second drawer is t-shirts and flannelpants. My real pants and jeans get rolled up and shoved in a hanging shelf deal that’s hooked over the pole in the closet. Dresses are hung up on the rod against the wall, short-sleeved dress shirts next to them, long-sleeved dress shirts and sweaters next to that. Coats are in the coat closet in the entryway. Hats are currently in a box in the entryway because I don’t have a nice hatrack, scarves are draped over the rods in both closets, shoes are piled on the floor.
Far right - stuff that needs to be hemmed, shortened, or tailored in some way, shirts I might someday be able to wear again if I lose 25 lbs.
Right - 78 Hawaiian shirts
Middle - pants, suits, etc.
Left - wife’s half of this closet
Far left - cold weather gear
The floor is filled with shoes, ammo boxes, and storage units full of whatever. The shelf above holds sleeping bags, gun cases, linens, camera bags, and other such stuff.
Of course you need them all. More, in fact. And why is anyone asking anyway? Huh? HUH?*
*Actual conversation overheard between my mother and father, culminated by she and I going out and buy two more pairs each. 
Yes! Finally someone who understands that just because I already have one pair of fuschia stilettos that doesn’t mean I don’t need this very different pair of hot pink kitten heels.

My closet really isn’t that organized. Nice dresses are on the outskirts and everything in the middle kind of circulates from right to left as I wear it wash it and hang it up.
In the dresser:
Top drawer: jewelry boxes (yes, boxes ), watches, ribbons, scarves, etc
2nd drawer: Undies
3rd drawer: pjs, work out clothes and random t-shirts
4th drawer: clothes I can’t fit into at the moment (it’s a very full drawer 
)
Bottom drawer: Sweaters and sweatshirts
I must admit I’ve never considered hanging my clothes in my closet by type or color. That’s a really neat idea! I don’t know if I have the discipline for it but I now have a desire to go home and reorganize my closet!
