How do you reheat steak?

I put it in a container with a lid. Put a shallow layer of water in the container to keep it from drying out. Be sure to flip steak ,as the side with the water will be twice as hot as the side with out the water.

I can’t be the only one to treat leftover steak like leftover pizza and just eat it cold from the fridge, right?

I’ll fourth or fifth this. 10 seconds too long, though, and it will be ruined.

Yeah, the afterwork snack. Awesome.

If there’s a lot I’ll slice it up, sautéed it and mushrooms with butter and lay it on a bed of wild or white rice.

Slice it thin and make fajitas.

give it to the dog. reheated steak is cardboard.

You can try heating broth or gravy to nearly boiling, and then slicing the steak thinly and heating it in the warm liquid. Sometimes this works well, other times it doesn’t.

Generally what I do is make a cold steak sandwich, or I do a stir fry. If it’s a stir fry, the steak gets added last, after the veggies are cooked, so that the meat just gets warmed up. I’ve also made Stroganoff with leftover steak, making the sauce first, and then just letting the thinly sliced steak warm up in the sauce.

Cutting into thin slices and reheating in the microwave slowly made for a yummy steak salad. I’ll try the mashed potatoes thing next.
