How does one deal with a corrupt Circuit Court Judge?

Howard County Maryland

There is a judge that will not allow evidence from one party, but will leap into action for the other side, even if the filings are not complete.

Transcripts have even been altered in order to spoil an appeal. Just get the audio tape - right? The judge will not give it up and nobody seems to care.

The ex-wife sends a letter claiming medical expenses for the kids to be paid by the father. In the past, when the father sends payment, his ex keeps the money and sends the doctors after the “responsible person” - the father. Now he will not pay until he sees a bill, and will only send payment to the hospital or doctor.

The court will not even do anything about helping find the real amounts. The judge will not enforce a subpeona of the records showing the true amounts of the medical bills or even her pay records which were used to determine the split for child support.

The things I’ve heard and seen truly make me wonder why one should care about the law.

TIA,
Steve

I don’t really have a clue. However, if what you say is correct is there a state Ombudsman you could take this complaint to? How about a local TV station? They live for this sort of thing.

I should say that unless you are the “father” that you mention, you need to be certain beyond a doubt that there is something afoot. Don’t trust somebody who is bitching, because it may be without cause.

I’d contact the local media. Where I live, they seem to eat these kinds of stories up.

No it ain’t me. And yes, I am only getting one side, but I am close enough to the situation to see all the documents and have no reason to believe I am being decieved.

The maddness occurs regularly.

Some action TV type program sounds great. I already suggested it. He already tried it.

I should have made the subject line:
Who has the authority to make a judge follow the law?

Steve

I would think most states have (cumbersome, hard to get to, rarely used) judicial review boards. If Maryland does not, he can always try suing the judge in a superior court. (He can’t sue for damages, but he can probably sue to compel action.)

I dropped “maryland judiciary” into Google and got a hit that led me here:
Commission on Judicial Disabilities
Room 1.210
100 Community Place
Crownsville, MD 21032
(410) 514-7044
Hon. Sally D. Adkins, Chair
Amy S. Scherr, Esquire, Executive Secretary
Steven P. Lemmey, Esquire, Investigative Counsel

From the Maryland courts FAQ: Where do I go to complain about a judge?

You’ve not mentioned if the fellow is represented by a lawyer. If not, fefore going the complaints route, the best thing would be to get a lawyer who’s trained in the law of Maryland and practises in the area of family law. The local bar association would likely have a list of lawyers for referrals.

Thanks for the info.

Lots of great help here!!!
