Just wondering as I have recently become a member here after lurking for quite some time. I happen to work in the science realm for a company in Boston. I’m an Archaeologist who consentrates on survey and excavation at industrial sites, prior to construction. Recently got back from Northern Africa, where I was on assignment for a dig near a Petro-Canada site. Plus I just found out I’m going to be in National Geographic! I am very excited. It’s just a few photo’s etc…etc… but I’m quite excited needless to say.
I just wanted to know how it worked for being on a science board here? Is there a science board? I know I’ve seen staff reports, or special reports from “special contributors” etc…etc…
I’m not saying I think I’m special or anything, but I happen to work in a field where I do have some experise. And I would be happy to share any information I can. Is there a certain protocol for this kind of thing? Resume’s, post count, interview? Should I be emailing this inquiry to someone rather than posting it here?
Well… generally speaking, the frist step is to post to the Message Boards and hence come to our attention (in a positive way.)
The second step would be to send me an email, describing your special areas of expertise, etc. and we’ll go from there. It’s easier to handle this one-on-one in email.
And we are (always!) looking for people willing to write Staff Reports. Tomorrow’s feature, for instance, is another “guest” report.
