Well, the problems with the story

1. Can’t find any reference to “Blue unction” OUTSIDE the retelling of the joke.
2. Mercury Chloride is used as a medicinal back in middle ages ( middle east).
   It would treat skin diseases of all sorts, bacteria , fungi or animal… eg ring worm .
   A more modern name for it is “Mercurochrome” which was yellow or orange. (To help reduce overdosing, you could apply the smallest amount to make the area yellow… and know that was enough.)

Topical iodine replaces mercury chloride as a “treat anything” anti-septic. Previously iodine was dangerous as it killed sensitive skin (membrane… ),but the pov-iodine of modern times reduces the risk of chemical burns from it.
Back to 1, an obscure part of the joke is that “Unction” is a catholic term… “the Sacred Mystery of Unction” … it means anointment … “most of the Orthodox use Unction not only for physical ailments, but for spiritual ailments as well”.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

1. Know your sex partner well/practice monogamy and expect the same

2. Don’t get into motorcycle accidents and have to go to the hospital.

And if you can’t accomplish these simple guidelines, for crying out loud, don’t go untreated for so long that your child ends up with crab lice in his eyelashes.

How are you so distracted by X that your two to six-year-old child had the time and inclination to crawl into a claw machine? The doors they crawl into are small, and it has to take effort. How do you not notice that going on? There are dozens of reports of kids doing this… ::shakes head::

30 seconds isn’t much time. Long enough to take out your money and pay for the kids’ soda, really.

Toddlers are fast. Especially when it comes to “the inclination”.

So I’ve been reading my BabyCenter birth club boards because I’m a masochist or something and just love the company of morons? Anyway, there was one woman who, once she started to show and her belly button started to become less of an innie, had something in it that I swear, looking at the picture, was a piece of her umbilical stump from when she was a baby. I can’t imagine anything else it could have been.

How the hell did that go unnoticed for, I don’t know how old she is but let’s say at least 18 years?!

I knew I’d have trouble explaining crabs when no sex was involved. At least not on my part. The person I got them from was more than a bit of a slut. His choice - I didn’t have a problem with that. But I wasn’t expecting that kind of gift.
