How does the Robostir work as well as it does

The Robostir.

(I’m assuming it works as well as they claim)
Why wouldn’t the friction on the bottom of the pan (let alone the resistance of the food being stirred) cause the stir legs and paddle to remain still and the top to rotate instead.

The whole thing spins. The three legs are springs, and it vibrates in such a manner as to “walk” in a circle because the legs flex against the pan and recoil when the weight shifts to the next leg,

Found this video which shows one used as a cat toy. You can see what I’m talking about. It starts off kinda herky-jerky but settles into rotational movement rather quickly.

Looks like it sucks as a cat toy though.

Watching the other videos of it being used while cooking, I can’t say I would trust it to stir anything that actually needed to be stirred, or was thicker than melted butter.

Or that was more than two inches deep. Also, how did that woman burn soup?
