How does your nose length (vertical) relate to the length of your face and the length of your head

I’m studying about drawing human faces, and it just seems like people with longer noses tend to have longer faces/heads. Not exactly sure about this though.

Way back when I was in art school, we had to learn about all the proportions of the human body, including the face. The problem is that there are so many exceptions, as to make these rules useless. Everyone is different, and there are plenty of people with long faces and short noses.

It depends how old you are. Noses and ears keep on growing till death. It’s most obvious with ears.

The first answer was pretty much similar to what I was expecting. Thanks!

The length of your nose is also approximately the length of your index finger to from the tip to the second knuckle.
