How tough do you think they are? How powerful is their fire output? I noticed that the dragon in GOT Telltale was pretty pathetic and breathed a full mouth of fire at a person at point blank range; who then emerged with just some minor burns and still at 100% wellbeing. But are they perhaps more powerful in the movies?
If their wings suddenly broke apart in mid-air, could they survive the drop? Let’s say they were flying at 4 kilometers altitude and going 80 kp/h. Could they survive modern rifle fire from hunters and farmers? What if they attacked a motorized infantry unit? Let’s say there were a mixture of 10 armoured cars and LAVs, 6 had .50 BMG M2s, while the other 4 had MK 19 grenade launchers with explosive grenades. Let’s also say 2 of the LAVs are equipped with 25mm autocannons as their main cannon.
What about surviving AT missiles? Could they survive two pairs of AGM-114 missiles? Let’s say two missiles hit the forward head and torso of the dragon, and the other pair hit the back and lower midsection of the dragon. The dragon is also hit by a burst of GAU-8 30mm cannon fire.
Huh. I thought the dragons were supposed to be pretty al-mighty. I saw someone that said the dragons would probably be able “struggle with” the entire U.S. military.
What about the ice zombies? How durable are they? How would one go about killing them?
So how durable is that? A google search says that the fully-grown dragons are as large as a 747, yet offers images of dragons that a significantly smaller than a 747. So barring magic durability, what would happen if a mature dragon lost it’s wings when flying? Also, how resistant to bullets would it be? Since spears are able to penetrate and kill a younger dragon, then surely high-power bullets would be able to penetrate a older dragon.
What about larger cannons? What would happen if a few 16 inch shells from a Iowa BB hit a mature dragon as it was munching on some grassy paddock? What about a railgun with sabot ammunition similar to the ones that might be used on the Zumwalt?
Could a mature dragon survive a high yield nuclear bomb at point blank range? I don’t think it could, but it would be fun to watch anyway. Someone should make a anime where the Game Of Thrones world gets invaded by an Imperial Warhammer Fleet, but in this case the Imperials don’t leave their ships. It would be fun to watch the dragons get hit by NOVA cannon rounds which are capable of blowing up entire moons. I always wondered how well the snow zombies would deal with 100-meter tall robots armed with gigantic cannons capable of levelling entire cities with one shot.
For some reason, I just really enjoy stompy literature, where one side is absurdly more powerful than the other. I really enjoyed the early seasons of GATE JSDF before it got too silly, and of course the Salvation War novella. If someone made a fanfiction with a hostile, fully-powered XEELEE army (these guys apparently have star-busting pistols) invading the Game Of Thrones world, that would just be incredible.
I think this actually would be a awesome fight to watch. The phoenix force is no doubt very old and wise, but he is controlling only a mortal man with titanium bones. Obviously if the actual phoenix force was to battle the dragon, he could just snap his fingers and the dragon would never have existed to begin with, but in this case he is only possessing a wolverine-man.
I mean, the phoenix force can only execute so many operations in a mortal man, and unless he finds some way to avoid that, perhaps by wiggling this exact muscle in these exact ways it will send some vibrations out that will cause some chemicals in the dragon to meet each other in ways that only those exact vibrations could cause, which in turn will make the dragon spontaneously explode, then he could actually lose against the dragon.
That makes me wonder, if a all-intelligent AI was placed on our planet with the objective of making humanity extinct, but without any tools, (no weapons, no interfaces, no broadcasting of ANY material other than the electrons in it’s circuits), could it make the electrons zap around their paths in the very exact ways that would cause the butterfly effect to somehow cause the sun to hurl itself into the earth in short order? Is that even possible?
We don’t really know how tough their armor is. One of the mature dragons was taken out by a lucky ballista shot through the eyeball, so we know they are not completely immune to damage. We also know that plenty died on dragon vs dragon fights.
