How embarrassed should I be about my hobby?

What the fuck have I wandered into?

(exits thread mumbling to self)

I grew up with a cousin who was really into MLP as much as I was into Transformers and we played together a lot. I just never had the feeling that the ponies were supposed to be young. So a bit of googling and wiki and the wiki for My Pretty Pony came up and that triggered memories and like Vinyl Turnip I remembered MPP.

I do admit I’ve seen some episodes of MLP: FIM. It’s ok but it’s a young kids show. And I don’t know if the newer incarnation is supposed to have the ponies being young. My impression was they were teenagers as there are younger ponies who don’t have their cutie marks yet.

Although the scene of Rainbow Dash and her sonic rainboom is pretty badass.

I’ve seen a crap ton of Pokémon from babysitting my step brothers who are over a decade younger than me and they were seriosusly into Pokémon.

It’s never too late to start and you aren’t getting any younger.

What some of the older generation do not understand is that today’s recently made adults have grown up with cartoons as a kid, as a teenager, as an adult … no harm, no foul. Adults today feel more connected to visual fantasy in general because they have grown up around it. Two friends of mine were big fans of my little pony and absolutely neither of them were in it for sexy underage horses or anything like that, and I can guarantee both of them would look terribly askew at anybody suggesting otherwise like they were the deviants for racing to such extreme thoughts about an otherwise lawful act.

As per Budget Player Cadet’s fanfic, so what? Leave him alone. Consenting adults and all that still apply.

Was he not a teenager himself at the time just a few years older? And I’m pretty sure her mom was the one to make that claim, then later said it was some autism spectrum issue or gender identity issue. There are abusive parents you know?

My dead mom used to tell everyone I was retarded, my mother in law asked me if my mom was right in the head because she talked about me like I was a five year old, but she had the sense to realize how strange that was.

He was the one that brought it up. He asked how embarrassed he should be. That right there implies he knows it is embarrassing. He either revels in the criticism or hopes people like you will come along to defend him. Either way, win-win for him.

Oh. I’m really bad with names, and I’m straight. But the girl looks more like an adult than the boy. Less creepy.

The ponies seem like teenagers to me. And I suppose it’s common for adult men to find teenage girls hot.

FWIW, it’s the fact that they’re cartoons that should be embarrassing by my lights–not so much whether they’re maybe “teenage” ponies.

Must…resist…low hanging fruit. :stuck_out_tongue:

Eh I mean I am retarded, but not THAT retarded. :stuck_out_tongue:

But yes I can absolutely imagine an abusive and manipulative parent trying to chase away the BF of their transgender? teen by making up lies, thinking they just have to control their kid’s life until that phase passes.

It is pretty tiring seeing BPC constantly attacked as a pedophile, as if he was a forty year old dude hooking up with a teen with an IQ of 40. Gimme a break.

My father had a picture of Wile E. Coyote having sex with the Road Runner. Weird porn’s always been out there.

And there’s still quite a bit of Velma porn out there, I’ve noticed. I even ran across some Josie and the Pussycats porn just recently.

I always had a thing for Velma even as a kid, even if I never spanked it to a cartoon.

I found it kind of amusing the recent ongoing storyline heavy revival of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated(which was pretty damn good BTW) had Velma apparently straight and in a relationship with Shaggy, and a new female character heavily implied to be in love with her while Velma remained oblivious. I think there was even a old Cartoon Network promo that had Velma saying she was going to an Indigo Girls or KD Lang show lol.

I’m generally of the belief that people shouldn’t be judged for their thoughts, and that includes sexual fantasies, however weird. So, knock yourself out.

Technically, isn’t it also beastiality?

Are humans involved…? I don’t remember anything that says they are…?

I thought we as a society were getting over this “cartoons are for children” thing.

I’m still getting shit over something two years ago that didn’t actually happen)…

if your own words are to be believed, yes it did.

Maybe so, but in this case, the cartoon is. It’s right there in the OP. He specifies “A popular child’s cartoon franchise”. The intended audience isn’t the same as, say, Archer. In this case, the intended audience for the erotic fan fiction source material is most definitely children. That’s what makes it skeevy.

Just FYI, I don’t think you are at all not aware of how “un-okay” this kind of thing is. You write sexualized stories about fictional horses that appear on a children’s TV show, start a thread about “how embarrassed should I be?”… and then want to claim that you are legitimately unaware that this can be considered “un-okay”?

Sorry… not buying this claim.

p o n i e s

So, you’d react differently if it were Archer pr0n? :dubious:

Probably, as the single episode of that show I’ve seen was already heavily sexualized.
