I hate to even consider starting to see someone who lives over 1 hour’s ride away. It’s not the time itself that means much, as I have plenty every day. It’s the instant pressure. That would make every meeting into a special event, full of planning, etc. So it would never lead to any casual acquaintanceship, just a friend to go to a movie with now and again, or trying a new restaurant.
I once drove 2 hours for a blind date. Of course, had I known my way around Medford, it would have taken me only 20 minutes, but still…
