I didn’t vote because I wasn’t sure what I’d say. I saw them all the time when I lived in Wyoming, but I haven’t been back since 2016 and never see one here in very blue western Washington state.
The last time I saw one was in DC in January, 2017. I was there the day after the inauguration for the Women’s March. In the midst of a sea of exuberant Marchers at the Metro station stood a man and a woman in MAGA hats, looking very confused.
I don’t get out much these days so I didn’t vote. The only time I really get to see any is when they’re worn by someone Facebook suggests should be my friend; I immediately take them off my suggested friends list.
I live in Trumplandia, so I see them quite often. Not as often now, but it’s rare to go to the grocery store or hardware store and not see at least one or two.
I have them come into my business a few times a week, though I see blue lives matter flags and shirts more often than Trump propaganda.
I see a pickup go by my business nearly every day (it probably goes by every day, but I assume I miss it sometimes), that flies a huge Trump flag on one side, and a black flag on the other.
I live in a very red area in a very blue state. I see one once in a while, but not often. IIRC, I saw more around the time of the last election, but still not lots of them. Generally not even on people who had Trump signs or flags on their vehicles.
I saw them fairly frequently in 2016 and '17, but not much anymore. I about sprained my eyebrows three years ago when I saw one on the hipster kid running the register at my local artisanal doughnut place, but when I got closer, I realized it actually said “Make America Gay Again”. I hope some Trumpie saw it and choked on his apple fritter.
I see them pretty frequently. Heck, there’s a guy who still has his Trump Election paraphernalia stand up. He is selling Trump 2024 banners and other MAGAt stuff…
There’s a “free speech” street corner in my town, and I used to see small groups with really large amounts of Trump regalia there on a semi-regular basis. There were never that many people, though……and I’m pretty sure one of the purposes of all the flags and stuff was to make the group look bigger.
But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a random individual with a Trump hat.
I live in Taiwan so I’ve never seen one. Come to think of it, I didn’t see one in Georgia when we visited my mom last year, but I was only there for 10 days.
In Atlanta proper, and the inner suburbs where I live, I picked seldom. With what I know of the area, I’d assume the further out from city center you go, the more likely you are to see them. Midtown? Probably not likely, other than a troll. Cumming, Buford, or Kennesaw? I wouldn’t be surprised to see some.
In my blue county within a red state, the only MAGA hats I’ve seen were not worn, but displayed on the back package shelf area between the back seats and rear windows of two cars. One of the hats was big-time sun faded.
In 2016 and for a year or so after the election, I saw plenty in Tucker and in Dunwoody. Now, not so much. According to the bumper stickers I see, there are still plenty of MAGAts around, but they seem to have reverted to the traditional Georgia, Ford Truck, and camo hats. I’m sure I’ll see plenty of MAGA 2.0 hats in 2023 and 2024.
Yeah, Dunwoody was still Republican in 2016, although less so than 2012. Many (but not all) of my neighbors seem to be of the sane Republican variety, which is why the district of Newt Gingrich now has a Democrat representative for the first time in a very long time and she also happens to be a person of color. Her opponent, Karen Handel, tried too hard to ride Trump’s coattails. That worked for her in the 2017 special election against Jon Ossoff, but by 2018 people around here were fed up with Trump.
In 2016, there were Trump signs on most lawns in my neighborhood. In 2020, there was one sign.
I live in Ohio and see them often enough, though I only think I know one person who wears one. In 2007-2008, I remember seeing a fair number of NoBama is a Socialist type shirts/hats at the grocery store. So MAGA wear wasn’t much of a shock.
I do see flags, banners and signs in yards and on houses. Not exclusively, but it seems to me they are mostly on big houses with big yards. In rural eastern PA.
Watched a guy wearing one while entering the Washington State Fair in Puyallup. He was asked to leave after refusing to put on a mask. He started hollering about his civil rights being violated and pushed away the officer attempting to remove him from the fairgrounds. 2 really big guys walked up and asked the officer if she needed assistance. The guy walked out on his own accord rather than deal with those guys.
