I’ve had my gmail account for a little less than six months and it’s over 20% full; I figure I’m on pace to fill it up in about two years. I don’t consider myself an unusually heavy email user, although I do use gmail as an online file cabinet sometimes.
Is anyone else getting close to 100 percent? Above 50 percent? Any idea what you’re going to do when the space runs out?
I imagine that gmail will probably sell additional space at some point in the future, but I haven’t heard anything to that effect, and I don’t think they’ve even (publicly) set a date for the end of beta. It’s probably not too long before some of their heavier users run into a problem.
I’m still at 0% (4MB), but that could change now that I’ve set up my old university account to forward over there - doing that, I can keep that account for an additional year, so it makes sense.
But I don’t have any of my listservs going to that account, or I’d have used more space than that.
I’ve had my account for less than a month and:
You are currently using 23 MB (2%) of your 1000 MB
I also have 4 accounts currently forwarding to this address including one I use to manage my very big web site where I get about 20 to 60 MB of files sent to my address per week. I’ve also deleted a bunch of stuff - including keeping my spam box clean & deleting bounced messages that have large attachments & hundreds of forum replies from my own site as well.
It looks like I will have to delete & download messages and files on this just like any other account.
My friend keep forwarding porn (sigh, I’m not going to lie about this) to his mailing list, and since gmail doesn’t allow “Download All”, I’ve just been saving it.
