There was absolutely nothing offensive about my joke. I was trying to create a mental image of a person seeing a 15 rupee price tag on a bag of razors in the U.S., realizing that was a good deal and then trying to scrape up 15 actual rupees to buy them. Of course, if you have to explain that, it doesn’t work. It was meant to be absurd and poking fun at the buyer.
Did I say it was offensive? I said it was lame.
