Globalization wins!

I bought a few packs of Mach 3 razors on Groupon, paying about $15 per. The usual price for these blades is around $22. So they arrive, and I find that they were made in Poland for sale in India, and on the package, the maximum price is listed as 649 rupees (or about $10).

It blows my mind that these razor blades were made in Poland, probably shipped to India, perhaps bought by an entrepreneur, shipped to the US, sold more cheaply than what you can find at CVS or even Amazon, and the entrepreneur probably still makes a decent profit. Crazy!

I’d be more upset about the margins on razor blades that allows this to happen.

You might discover that they are not as good as you expect them to be. Somebody in India has the marketing rights to Mach 3, and has them made in Poland to his own specs and quality control standards. What is the country of manufacture of Mach-3s that are labeled for sale in the USA?

Doesn’t really matter that much. With the Belarussian shaving foam he buys, a piece of stiff cardboard could remove all the stubble from his face.

He just has to make sure he doesn’t leave it on his skin for more than 3 minutes and 46 seconds.

Interesting that you say that, because I don’t actually have a handle for the Mach 3 razor. I just have a stick that was made in Cameroon that I got for like $1! Gillette is totally ripping you off with those $8 handles!!
