It occurred to me about US-Israel military packages. I can’t think of another case where two electronics powerhouses have so much access to each other’s tech at its earliest implementation and testing.
Of the shit-ton of foreign aid Israel receives from the US, almost all military, a shit-ton-- 75% of it–must be spent in the US. (The best non-bullshit and non-tendentious analysis is from the US Congressional Research Service, from April 2013.)
Israel often inserts its own avionics, for example, and the bloc platform destined for its military often must be designed for that. (In fact, that turned into an issue on the F-35 contract.)
Some testing and integration is done before delivery, yes? Surely Lockheed or whoever has some free-time alone with them, no?
