I’m looking for a track car that is a bit more affordable to run than my last one that will also be streetable. There’s a dirt cheap 2007 Mazda Miata near me. The body looks pretty good in pictures. It supposedly has no accident history and it has low miles. Did I mention it is dirt cheap? Unfortunately, it has been lowered to about three inches of the ground. I know very little about the modifications people do to lower their cars this much. I know I’ll need to replace the coilover kit and stupid wheels and realign it. I would likely use a more normal height Tein adjustable coilover kit. Wheels to be determined. Anything else that likely needs to be undone to make this car driveable again? Am I likely to see irreparable damage from it being scraped against the ground countless times? Thanks.
Sorry, no idea, but you could ask the seller if they did the work. If they did, they probably know if it can be reversed, and might even had the original parts still lying around.
If you ask over at MiataForum you’ll find tons of expertise on the subject. Most likely all it’s had changed is the springs and shocks.
I’d put it up on a lift to see if there’s and signs of scraping damage.
Seller doesn’t have the original parts and it doesn’t seem that he did the work himself. Based on his description, it’s not clear to me that he even understands the work that was done. Now that I think of it, he may have bought the car this way.
I’d at least get it up on ramps if it will climb them. Sadly, I don’t have a lift.
