A few days later, he threatened to round up state legislators and execute them.
He also asked Mainers to shoot drug dealers.
We don’t even have the death penalty in Maine. I have made the comparison to him and Trump many times. This is why the prospect of President Trump terrifies me. They both want to be totalitarians.
Because there’s s no formal complaint, maybe. And, In a larger sense, because Maine Democrats were stupid enough to split a vote that would have kept him out of office–twice! Haven’t kept track: is he still on the hook for Good Will-Hinckley extortion?

And yes, the elections that brought him in, especially the first one, were stupid clusterfucks. The 2010 election in Maine is the only time I have ever heard of a Democrat spoiling an election for an independent. Eliot Cutler(I),who was a political outsider lost by a little less than two percentage points. Libby Mitchell(D), was president of the Maine senate at the time. She ended the election with 19% of the vote. Her main selling point was “vote for the dem so we don’t split and get Lepage”. Ironically, if the people who did that had voted Cutler, we wouldn’t have gotten Lepage.
Because most people realize that hyperbole is not meant to be taken literally.

Damn it, I just know I recently read of another futile old woman making the exact same threat. Only it wasn’t LePage, it was Trump, and it wasn’t Cutler, it was another independent, who was the only real chance of stopping Trump…

Our State legislators seem to hate Lepage so much, they won’t even call him by his name. I went to see a State Senate debate tonight. The candidates all just called him “The Governor” as if he didn’t have a name. This was even true of the incumbents. In fact, all the candidates at the debate seemed to agree on one thing. Lepage is a racist, ignorant, bully who is ruining our state.
Also, hisflippant disregard for the heroincrisis has probably caused at least a few actual deaths.
