I don’t know I’d be that stoked for a defense that gave up 40+ points to Bowling Green.
WAY TO GO, BIG TEN. 10-0 SATURDAY!!!
Looks like Alvarez will have some adjustments to make on defense. Even sad-sack Illinois showed some heart in a comeback against Rutgers. But I’m happiest that my Spartans looked very good in a rout of an admittedly bad foe, Kent State.
To the Big 10 refereeing crew at the Louisville-UK game: how exactly did Andre Woodson fumble that ball over to Louisville? Explain it to me.
We would have tied that game.
Week 2. Michigan vs. Notre Dame. Now we’re talking.
Sure, it’s a mismatch. But it’s a storied mismatch.
cricetus, college football drools and the NFL rules. It sounds like you’ve seen the light. Come join the big game!
Well, even if nobody else cared, I will just note that my FSU Noles finally broke Miami’s win streak!
Yes, it was ugly. Yes, lots of mistakes on both sides. Yes, it was almost all defense. But the Noles beat the Canes!
They did a major renovation of the stadium, brought back over 400 players, including one guy from the 1930’s. He was great, came out in a wheelchair with his brown leather helmet on, had the happiest face. It was throwback day, I hated the helmets, but loved the maroon uni’s.
The 2nd week isn’t much better. We had to reschedule a game and could only come up wtih Temple, and now Wis is favored by 5 touchdowns last I heard.
Another reason they schedule the patises is because the little schools will come in and make more money in 1 game than they will all year long. Bowling Green played to over 80,000 people in Madison, and collected, I think 1/3 of the gate money and that’s a shitload to them, and maybe to some of the other schools that go on the road to Big 10/11 schools and the other conferences. The little ones don’t mind, and can pull an upset like in OK.
I agree with the OP. I was pleased to see that Iowa State beat the living snot out of Northwest South Carolina State Useta-Be-A-Teachers’-College last weekend, but honestly, now. Maybe they ought to have Divisions or Classes or something. Like in high school.
I know, I know. This ain’t high school. I guess that makes it all ok.
They do have divisions. There’s division IA, IAA, II, and III.
It’s not clear to me that it is much of a mismatch after our defense gave up 400+ yards to Northern Illinois (who??) last week, and the punks we taught how to play football dismantled Pitt quite methodically.
Signed,
Nervous Michigan fan
I’m predicting this is the year we get the jug back, Gorsnack. 10/8 is marked on my calendar.
What, you’re hiring the Trojans to come impersonate the Gophers for the game? Well, I guess they’ve got similarly ugly colours.
told you it would be a mismatch
For that crack, we won’t let you guys win back the jug till 2037.
Good god that was an ugly effort on the part of the offense.
Too bad, so sad. I can’t wait to see the look on the face of SSgt Miller. He’s been talking shit all week about how Michigan would spank ND. Yeah, that’s how it went down, too.
Let’s get to the SERIOUS games.
Who won today, Brown or Yale?
Check back in November when they play.
The QB is a freshman. You gotta expect some growing pains.
Well at least the defense looked much better. Other than two drives they shut em down pretty well.
The O didn’t look all that bad to me either. Just a lack of focus when it mattered, and a whole bunch of 'almost but not quite’s. They had no sense of purpose for the whole game, and that I put on the coaching staff.
Just another typical Michigan loss to a team they should have beat. I’m still fucking amazed they actually got it together for a whole season in 97.
I don’t know if it’ll be any solace to fans of the Blue, but that was a very entertaining game.
