You poor backward Canadians would be lost in our all-nude, all alcohol, BJ-at-the-bar, live-lesbian-sex-show utopia…
In Washington DC, simultaneous full nudity and the serving of alcohol is permitted. One more for the “your mileage may vary according to local statutes” column.
Why wasn’t I told?
I’ve never been to a strip club in D.C. The only local one I’ve been to was out in P.G. County somewhere, and that was topless only, although there was a sign that said on weeknights it was full nude and BYOB.
When I was a kid in Akron, OH, there was a place around somewhere called The Nest which was supposedly all-nude and, because this required that they not serve liquor, 18-year-olds could get in. I never went, but I knew a couple guys who claimed to have been.

In the 90’s there was a non-liquor club near here that admitted 18 year olds. Some of my students went. One of them bought a lap dance and apparently suffered a “negligent discharge” (as gun enthusisasts would say) the moment the stripper touched him. He spent the remaining months of his senior year being called all sorts of amusing nicknames by his classmates.
Thank og I’m not Canadian.
and yet he rose above the ridicule and found a great career making digital short films for Saturday Night Live
(slightly NSFW)
But do they allow goats in Canadian strip clubs?
Wait, I’m getting ahead of myself. That doesn’t happen until later.
Prolly, and that may be why East Asia will rise to become the economic center of the 21st century.
I don’t know much about strip clubs, but I know that in San Diego two members of the City Council were convicted because they apparently were taking money from an owner of a lot of strip clubs to change the laws so that customers could be closer to the “dancers.”
You never asked, silly.
Archibald’s, 15th and K NW. Block an’ a half from Bush’s old place.
Virginia has it bad, I went to a strip club years ago and they had to wear a thong and pasties.
New South Wales, Australia - you can have full nudity or food and drinks, but not both at the same time. Typically the bar owner will opt for serving the stuff that they get paid for, but if there’s a “feature show” where someone’s going to be getting bottomless they’d cut off all bar service until the show finished.
Since in Vegas you can have either nudity or alcohol, but not both, I’ve heard most new clubs have gone with nudity since you can get slobberknockered about everywhere else there.
Certainly, Canada isn’t the only place where you can see the full monty and drink, but it is rarer than one or the other. I live in Portland, a strip club mecca, where, like Canada, we get both.
Southeast Asia, actually.
But full disclosure: Not every bar is like that. However, while many do manage a variation thereof, I just happen to know of some that manage a full combo.
But one thing that always got me in strip clubs back in West Texas, where I spent my very young-adult years was you could look but not touch. What sort of torture is that? There are certain bars here where you can walk in, sense an odd tugging sensation, look down, and there’s already a comely lass kneeling there unbuckling you, whether you want it or not!
Well, they do not allow gorilla costumes at a certain strip club in Kansas. Don’t ask how I know that.
I’ve been to quite a few states, so I’ll break down what I know from experience. Some of these might be local laws but I’m assuming state law:
Texas, Colorado, Louisina (New Orleans), Nevada (Vegas), Oklahoma, Indiana, Mass. (Boston)- can’t go sans bottoms and serve booze.
At least TX, OK, and CO have full nude clubs without booze.
Florida and Kansas you can. I think you can in Illinois (East St. Louis) but I’ve only heard stories.
I’ve also been to strip clubs in Arizona, California, and DC, but I don’t recall the rules.
Some places will be BYOB in states like KS because they don’t want to bother with a liquor permit and deal with the ABC jerks. Also, you can stay open later than bar closing if you aren’t a bar. In Texas though, you still have to take your beer out to the car at 2, which I think is BS.
In Washington state, there can be no nudity (even topless) if alcohol is served.
Here’s how bad this is: we had a male stripper group performing in my town, and they served alcohol. An agent from the Liquor Board was there to make sure that the male dancers wore pasties on their nipples! That’s taking equality just a bit far.
I once read about the opposite happening in Texas. There was a stripper performing topless in an area where female strippers could not legally perform topless. When she was arrested, her defense was that she had been born male and had a sex change operation to female. But Texas law does not recognize sex changes so she was still legally a man and was therefore not a female stripper even though she had breasts and a vagina. And male strippers were allowed to perform topless.
It may have changed but in Missouri, if you sold liquor, the dancers had to be over 21, could not be touched or danced with (?), had to wear at least a thong and pasties, and the customer had to be over 21.
In a juice bar (no liquor sold or allowed) the dancers could be as young as 18, could be fully nude, could dance with and touch the customers. The customers could also be as young as 18.
