I found an overview of carbon emissions by country, and it struck me that while worldwide, emissions increased by 5,1% from 2009-2010, Austra reduced theirs by an astonishing 9%. What’s going on here? Can Austria be a model for other countries, or is it just a one-off?
Maybe I’m looking at the wrong numbers, but I see Austria dropping from 2008 to 2009 then going up slightly from 2009 to 2010. This tracks the pattern shown for lots of other western countries; my guess would be that it relates to the recent recession.
