How is it possible for there to be a market for another Match Three game?

I’ve enjoyed my share, got into Bejeweled first almost 20 years ago on the Mac… But one thing I got ever very quickly was matching ONLY three… How many ways can you do that without getting locked up?

But the most stunning part is that people are still building them. “New” Match-3 games are being released at a breakneck pace… Really? Is there that big a difference for that many people between match three pigs and three pieces of candy or jewels or bogs or what the fuck ever?

What is the big deal?

Well, Candy Crush is the big one right now. It’s not a straight, match-3 game. EAch level is more of a puzzle with different levels and different goals (score some many points in a certain time, get rid of a certain amount of a certain color, get certain pieces to fall to the bottom, etc.) And there’s various extra pieces that can help or hurt you a certain way.
