How is trump still a viable candidate for president? Really, how?

I read that as It’s OK When Republicans Do It.

Stupid Discourse

People should vote for Trump if they want a selfish, ego-driven manchild, who will be focused entirely for the 4 years of the presidency on enriching himself and pursuing vengeance against his perceived enemies 24/7 while completely neglecting the needs of the country and driving the economy into the toilet while simultaneously destroying the country’s reputation abroad.

If these things appeal to a voter (which they apparently do for a great many), then best of luck to you all.

Or better yet, Biden decides to assassinate his political rival, like Donald Trump for example. That should fall under presidential immunity, right?

Three sides of the same coin?

As I said earlier in this thread about The Economist:

I have heard from American sources, though, that Republicans are having a tough time filling their coffers. This is both individual candidates and organizations, like state parties. It stands to reason Trump is collecting the nickle-and-dime contributions from the MAGAts while the fat cat donors, corporate and individual, are sitting this one out.

And in Michigan, where the GOP infighting has reached the point of a meeting which voted to remove the state chair.
She’s refused to accept the result, so some members are applying to court to have the state party chair removed.

The party is apparently in default on its interest payments for a major line of credit, and there is talk of bankruptcy.

A common theme in Michigan and other state parties is that once you have a general distrust of election results and assume they’re cooked, it’s impossible to have a stable state party that runs by internal elections. Who’d a thunk it?

You gotta love the quote in the Guardian article by Kelly Sackett, chair of the Kalamazoo county Republican party:

It’s very ironic for someone whose platform is election integrity to not believe in the election where she was overthrown.

It’s like these goofs don’t realize that’s the entire point of the MAGAts when it comes to “election integrity” - the election is only fair when they win.

Leopards eating faces indeed.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Nikki Haley questioned whether Donald Trump is mentally able to serve as president after he mixed her up with Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., at a Friday-night rally.

Addressing supporters in Keene, New Hampshire, Saturday, Haley called out Trump’s remarks while arguing that the presidential contest should not be a showdown between two men near or above 80 years old.

“We see that [President Joe] Biden has changed so much in two years,” Haley said. “But last night, Trump is at a rally and he’s going on and on mentioning me multiple times as to why I didn’t take security during the Capitol riots. Why didn’t I handle Jan. 6 better? I wasn’t even in D.C. on Jan. 6. I wasn’t in office then.”

I believe it was a Democratic member of the House who said to her Republican colleagues, “You’ve gotten into the habit of distrusting the government so much that you don’t even trust each other.” Prior to the Tea Party, one things you could almost always count on the GOP to do is close ranks and push their agendas through. But the modern GOP is more interested in conspiracy theories and scoring points on conservative news outlets. They’re not really interested in governing.

Exactly. They are interested in:

  • Fleecing the rubes for the cash in the short term.
  • Positioning themselves for media popularity to cash in for the longer term.

It’s mainly about the money. See: George Santos

He is locked in so that all women opposing him merge into one and the same? If he went on longer he’s begin claiming he never assaulted her and that she is suing him.

I live in Iowa. It started MONTHS ago.

How many ads have you seen about Trump the rapist, Trump the insurrectionist, Trump the fraudster, etc.?

Trump is still a candidate due to so many people hating the government. They see it doing nothing. Just get rid of it! Or have someone run it who is going to destroy it.

My main concern with Trump winning the election is internal matters. We of course fear for democracy, but I fear there will just be a lot of chaos. I don’t believe it will end up in any dictatorship for life. I think Trump will last about a year the second time. It will be like a sailor in a sail boat alone who does not know how to sail. I don’t think there will be violence or rvolution, it just will roll toward some really big catastrophe that Trump himself will have created.

The international matters will go on more in the normal way, as the president is somewhat isolated from the military and some of those controls will stay. It will just be a matter of funding what happens to Ukraine and Europe.

so many briefs to the supreme court. just a quick google search: site:supremecourt.gov brief to supreme court re trump - Search (bing.com)

The end of the article turns toward divisions in the U.S. This quote should make Trump a completely non-viable candidate for President.

During a September appearance on Solovyov’s show, Sidorov expressed his support for former President Donald Trump, touting the ex-president as “the destroyer” who is capable of eliminating the U.S. from the world stage by bringing about a new civil war.

“If he gets elected, everything we said about civil war will be on their agenda, in reality,” Sidorov said. “If one of the Democrats gets elected, this beat will go on. Trump can really get it to the point that our geopolitical adversary will fall apart—without any missiles.”

But it won’t.

Even the WSJ agrees-

Trump Is a Danger to U.S. Security

His isolationist views and erratic thinking and style would pose even greater risks in a second term.

No, sorry I dont have a sub, so it cuts off. If someone wants to give us a gift to this article, that woould be nice.

And this-

People at the extrinsic end of the spectrum are more attracted to prestige, status, image, fame, power and wealth. They are strongly motivated by the prospect of individual reward and praise. They are more likely to objectify and exploit other people, to behave rudely and aggressively and to dismiss social and environmental impacts. They have little interest in cooperation or community. People with a strong set of extrinsic values are more likely to suffer from frustration, dissatisfaction, stress, anxiety, anger and compulsive behaviour.

Trump exemplifies extrinsic values. From the tower bearing his name in gold letters to his gross overstatements of his wealth; from his endless ranting about “winners” and “losers” to his reported habit of cheating at golf; from his extreme objectification of women, including his own daughter, to his obsession with the size of his hands; from his rejection of public service, human rights and environmental protection to his extreme dissatisfaction and fury, undiminished even when he was president of the United States, Trump, perhaps more than any other public figure in recent history, is a walking, talking monument to extrinsic values.
