How long before Democrats start playing the Super PAC mudslinging game

So, I read an article some time back that discussed an anti-Obama Super PAC ad that attacked him on the Jeremiah Wright controversy. (For the life of me I can’t find a good link to the exact article) The general gist of the article was that Super PACs represented a new era in political advertisements because the supposed “wall” between the PAC and the candidate allowed the candidate to take advantage of the mudslinging while simultaneously having an out in the case of any public backlash. This got me thinking, how long before most Super PAC ads on both sides devolve into just straight up uninhibited mudslinging? Do we have some Romney “Magic Underwear” ads to look forward to in the future? (I might donate to that PAC just for entertainment value)
