You thinking the left is that immoral?
It will be some lunatic with a gun, like it always is. His politics - or religion - will be beside the point.
On a different note, the people who were celebrating shutting down the Chicago rally should be ashamed of themselves. Look, if I could anoint somebody, it’d be Bernie - but are Donald’s supporters showing up at Sanders’ rallies to shut them down? If they are, I haven’t heard about it.
That’s not how democracy works.
Nobody said it would be someone on the left.
(More likely a John Hinckley or David Chapman lunatic.)
So far, the rallies have been “interrupted” only when peaceful protesters, making no jeers, have been identified by clothing or signs and violently thrown out of the rallies, often being attacked by Trump supporters. It is possible that the group who gathered in Chicago would have resorted to jeers during a Trump speech, but they never got the chance. Trump saw that he had more than a small handful of protesters and bailed. I have not heard anyone quoted as saying that they came for the purpose of silencing Trump’s speech.
Sanders has had Trump and Clinton supporters at his rallies. He has simply refrained from the Trump model (as has Clinton refrained) of inciting people to attack them, (or siccing the Secret Service on them even though they do not pose a threat).
Well, hell, if we’re talking beliefs here, I believe the guy was a plant.
My money is on one of Trump’s supporters accidentally shooting him out of exuberance. Never underestimate the dumb of a Bubba.
Are you sure? I know some have been identified by clothing and signs, but I thought some had shouted out during his speech. Given the variety of protesters out there, it’d be pretty astonishing if nobody had shouted in protest during a Trump speech.
Thing is, no matter what Trump says, it doesn’t guarantee any or all of that will ever be able to happen. Every candidate in history said a bunch of BS that never happened or if it did, not quite like how they originally intended. Just ask Obama about it.
Why would it necessarily be ‘the left’?
There are any number of people on the right, and plenty of people outside the American left right spectrum, and plenty of entirely nonpolitical ones- the Mexican drug cartels, for one, whose business would be seriously disrupted by the Great Wall of Trump- whose interests would be seriously harmed by a Trump presidency.
Would-be assassins are usually crazy and Trump’s opponents are sane.
Like the ones saying that the protesters should be killed?
Many Ted Cruz supporter are Trump opponents… Just saying.
What’s the debate here? Whether someone will shoot Trump? I’ll take “no” for $500, because why would anyone bother and he now possesses his own SS detail.
If anyone tried he’d probably use a kid as a human shield.
I think someone will attempt it and probably in the next 3 months but they won’t succeed. The bigger question in my mind is how long he would last as President before he was impeached. I give it 6 months.
(note I don’t think Trump will win, but if he does he won’t last long)
My figuring is he’d go Sarah Palin and just walk off the job.
Maybe it will be the first “reality TV presidency”. Be there live when Trump builds that wall! Listen in as Putin is put in his place! Does Trump really like his chief of staff or will he say, “You’re fired!” Just imagine the redecorating of the White House. White no more - it’s GOLD!
Drama and decadence. Who can resist?
We’ve had Camelot - now it’s time for Xanadu!
One of his campaign proposals is, 100% seriously, building a big beautiful new ballroom for the White House.
Is there a particular point in campaigning where they typically bestow that to presidential candidates? Honestly I thought it only came after they got the job. Hillary would be an exception regardless, of course, due to being immediate family of a former president.
