The video linked earlier in this thread described the difference as push vs pull. Russians “push” supplies forward. They decided ahead of time who gets what, where and when and then send those supplies according to a schedule they drew up (push). The US/western forces let forward units call back for supplies and then supplies are sent to who needs them, when they need them (pull).
