I just got upper and lower partials today. Basically replacing the molars.
I know it’s going to take time to get used to them, since I’m used to not having teeth there for so long. How long do you figure it will take me to get accustomed to having them? Tried eating a sandwich earlier and that was difficult. Wound up taking them out just to make it easier. They seem to fit fine otherwise, but I don’t think I really should be taking them out to eat.
What will be the hardest to get used to? I’m guessing gum is pretty out of the question now.
I’ll be reading this thread with interest - I strongly suspect I’ll be replacing my molars too eventually (as I just said in the implant thread, I have lost one already and have four others that are in various stages of crowns and root canals).
I have just completed a 7 root canal ten tooth crown and bridge procedure to straighten my bottom teeth profile. I did ten of the top teeth 4 month ago and that is how long it took me to get used to them enough to tackle the lower set.
Was able to eat other foods, but felt compelled to swish constantly and rinsed them off frequently. Was told my speech got clearer as the day went on. Saliva glands working overtime. One sore spot and a pinched cheek that I’ll got adjusted in a day or so. Still felt them in my mouth after I took them out, so I guess I’m getting the hang of them. Removal is getting easier, but putting them in backwards hurts.
