I’m pretty sure that I’m a little unusual in this respect, as I’ve known how to drive since pretty early childhood:
My extended family owned a lot of orchards, and consequently quite a bit of land. At around age 7 or so I was allowed to learn how to ride minibikes from my older (16 y.o.) cousin, and onto 4 wheelers at around age 9.
By age 11-12 we were driving both tractors and pickups around the property, mostly for the sake of work (bleh!), hauling gear & loaded bushels back to the packing barn etc.
Come 16 years old, we were more than eager to take the test and get our licenses, because driving cars on the street was SO much cooler, and would help us get girls.
