How long do your glasses last?

      • One word: titanium. No rusting, no coatings to wear or scratch off, and lighter and more flexible than steel. Also: sweat does not contact the metal and turn green at all, ever. …Yea they cost more, but are nicer overall. I only regret I waited as long as I did to try them.

I’ve had mine for 4 years and will be replacing the lenses this year because of scratches. The frames are the first that didn’t turn my cheeks, nose or temples green. Used plastic frames for years because of that, but they always break. These metal frames have been absolutely worth the price for titanium.

Three years sounds about right. Although the pair I’m wearing now is about five years old.

The problem I have now, is that my new glasses are titanium, and the silly hinge on one of the temples broke last year, after just over a year of use, something that had never, ever happened with steel frames. On top of which, I’ve never been concerned with the weight of the frames, since I use such a heavy prescription it really doesn’t matter, certainly I don’t notice a difference now.

My current pair I’ve been wearing about a year and a half, and should be good for few years yet. My previous pair lasted about 8 years, but I don’t expect these to make it that long.
