How many other dopers besides myself wear glasses?
(I have 3 pair)
gotta add this>
I wear 'em (I think I look better with than without).
Not only do I wear glasses, but my husband is an optician. Double-.
Still considering Lasik as my fiancee TheLadyLion has had great success but still have glasses. Three pair if I can find them, an incredibly scratched clear pair, one pair of sunglasses and one pair of Gargoyles with prescription inserts I use for shooting.
I normally wear contacts, but I hang on to an older (but still useful) pair of glasses for many a reason.

I wear them, but in about two days…I won’t be! That’s right, I get fitted for contacts on Wednesday.
I wear them. I used to wear contacts a lot and the glasses only at the beginning/end of the day (largely out of self-consciousness), but the contacts fatigue my eyes now, and they dry up in my eyes rather quickly, too (they’re gas perms), so I’d estimate I wear my glasses all day 4-5 days/week (my wife cured my self-consciousness).
I wear glasses. Tried contacts once, but I was having to put eyedrops in every few minutes, especially when I was on the computer, so I gave them up pretty fast. I prefer my glasses anyway. I’ve been wearing them for so long that I really can’t remember what it felt like when I didn’t wear them.

Four pairs. A regular one, one with glasses that go darker in sunlight, one regular pair of sunglasses (at the right strength) and an unbreakable one for sports. Still reading without glasses at 45 (but wearing glasses for ‘far away’ since the age of 8).
3 pairs myself, my everyday pair, safety glasses for work and sunglasses in my truck. Going in for an eye exam Friday so it looks like 3 new pairs of glasses.
I can’t walk without mine.
One pair, superglued earpieces, black nail polish around the rims to cover the chips.
And I STILL look better with 'em.
Me, too. And I desperately need new ones.
I tried the Varilux lenses last time, and they just don’t work for me. So it’s either bifocals, or two pair this next time around.
Glasses. Dark crimson wire rims with oval shaped lenses. I love my glasses.
I also have a thing for guys with thin wire rimmed glasses.
Since I was 7. I just made the transition this year into old age with the new prescription: “progressive” lenses (that is, trifocals).
Asked about laser surgery, but with my astigmatism in both eyes, the optomitrist said I had a 60 percent chance of success, with no guarantee that it would go back in a few years. Fortunately, I’m farsighted, so it’s possible to leave the glasses off for close work.
I have worn them for most of my life.
Two pair one set for everyday use.
One pair of sunglasses.
I am so used to having them on my nose that I would feel lost even if I could see without them.
I do - normally I stick to contacts just for the joy of having peripheral vision. (With a -11.25 prescription and astigmatism in both eyes, glasses have gotten a tad too cumbersome and limit my field of vision too much for practical purposes.)
I also am in possession of four eyes.
I tried contacts back in March (asked a bit about it here), but they were uncomfortable and dried out about every 15-20 minutes, so I gave 'em up. Glasses aren’t so bad.
I have worn glasses since I was six years old. At the time I only needed them for reading, but my eyesight continued to deteriorate from that point, and by the time I was eight I needed to wear them all the time. I tried contacts when I was fifteen but I could never get used to them, so I have since then worn only glasses.
Contacts, just because it’s more comfortable on my nose.
Funny thing is, I’m now entering the age group where it’s either sexy, fashionable, or both to wear glasses. Back when I was in high school, you wouldn’t be caught dead in 'em. In college, you could get away with it, but the trendy people didn’t.
Now? Anytime I put 'em on, people wonder why I don’t wear them more. Maybe it makes me look more professional. Weird.
