How long does it take your body to adjust to a new climate?

I’ve been living in a new climate for over a month now, and my body is still going through adverse adjustments.

Starting: 70-80F, 60% humidity, -8 Wind chill
Current: 80-105F, 5% humidity, 0 Wind

The main issue is my nose. I think it’s producing more mucous to prevent my sinuses from drying out and bleeding, but that means I can’t breathe most of the time. Antihistamines help, but only for a short time. When my nose is clogged, that causes me to breathe through my mouth, and so my lips are turning into leather. I have to use Blistex like 10 times a day with chapstick in between. I’ve also been using sinus rinse and nasal spray.

Past: 40-60F, 10-20% humidity, -10 Wind

When I was living in these areas, my body adapted within a week. Of course, I had winter clothes to help the transition, but my body stopped acting weird very quickly.

How long should it take for my body to adapt to the new weather conditions? Also, if you have any tips for living in the desert, please let me know.

It took me a month to acclimate myself to Los Angeles smog when I moved there. Of course, it was mid-July.

I go every winter from Montreal to Barbados, spending three weeks there and then back. It takes me no time at all to acclimate.

I moved from Louisiana to Massachusetts when I was 22. I am almost 41 now. I let you know when it happens. I still haven’t gotten used to it in any real way for most of the year. However, it was 85F and moderately humid here today though and hopefully will be that way for the next couple of months. Still a little chilly and not quite damp enough but otherwise almost perfect!
