This reminds me of a conspiracy theory I came up with that the current trend in reality tv (Survivor, Castaways, etc.) are actually secretly psychology experiments to see what it takes to make a group that won’t fall apart so that we can use what we learn to start sending colonies to live off of Earth. Since you could never get such an actual experiment past an ethics board and volunteers would be hard to find, make it television and poof you have a subject pool. I don’t believe the theory, but it does amuse me.
