And how often do you wear them? Do you consider yourself a “collector”? What percentage of them do you wear regularly? Do you wear them backwards?
I’ve amassed 12 baseball type caps (I include one which has a “skirt” around the back for sun protection. I wear all but 3 of them pretty regularly, tho maybe 5 are my favorites. The 3 or so I keep, even tho they don’t fit as comfortably as others, but because of who gave them to me, or because they have other significance.
I golf pretty regularly - and always wear a cap while golfing. I often wear one while hiking or playing music outside, but bought a broad brimmed hat I tend to wear more often in such situations.
But I do not regularly wear one when running errands, generally take them off in peoples’ homes or when dining, and have NEVER worn one backwards other than briefly in jest.
I have two that I bought for my food-service job. I leave one at work in case I forget the other and so I can switch them out. Since acquiring one, I find I wear it more than I thought I would. Plus it’s similar to the khaki Dickies cap my working-class Granddad wore. With long hair though it does give me the Tug McGraw look.
I live where it rains a lot … the brim of the typical baseball cap is good for keeping the water off my face, but it will still trickle down my back … all my hats have the full brim all the way around so that the rainwater sheds off … the more stupid looking the better … so I voted “no” …
I don’t know how many I have, but I know it’s more than 11. Like the OP, I golf a lot and always wear a cap. My hair is, unfortunately, getting pretty thin, so I usually wear a cap a good part of the year if I know I’m going to be outside for more than a few minutes.
15-16.
Three from previous jobs, several from theme parks, a couple from my coaching job and the rest from running and cycling events ( plus a couple of cycling caps).
Probably a dozen or so. Most of them I don’t wear because they’re too hot–but I still keep them for sentimental reasons. The baseball-style cap I wear almost all the time is the Outdoor Research Swift Cap, which is light weight and has mesh side panels.
More than 25. I always wear a NY Yankees baseball cap in the field. I have other souvenir Yankees caps from their championship seasons (since 1996). Then I frequently attend events where organizations give me a souvenir cap, and visiting friends may bring a cap from where they live. So I have accumulated quite a few.
I only wear a few regularly. The rest are on a couple of rack in my home office.
I only have 6 left. I where them very rarely, mostly the 9-11 Yankee cap with some World Series pins in it.
I have a pair of Yankees caps, one a 9-11 tie in with NYPD & NYFD the other from a Ball Cap day many years ago. I have one of my old USS Ranger caps left. I have one for the environmental group I’m part of. A free give away cap in a bag in the storage area under my hatch, just in case. I also have one from a prior job.
Not a single one; I really do not like the style. I wish the American national chapeau had been something else entirely. I don’t like cowboy hats either…but I dislike 'em less than baseball caps.
Most of mine are souvenir-like, and worn very infrequently. Mostly USC hats. One from the White Pass Railroad. I found a real nice, brand-new Ferrari hat that I like. I have one that I wear skiing when its too hot for my winter hat (it has speakers in the it!) that I stapled some ear-buds into.
Just to keep the sun off my face and accelerating my inevitable death.
Two. One that’s my everyday wear (I rarely wear one, but when I go out for a walk I wear it to keep the sun out of my eyes), and one that’s my “fancy” hat, black with silver trim.

A handful I don’t wear at all, some were my dad’s and some from significant vacations/destinations. Most get worn regularly, cleaner ones at the golf course or spectator sporting events, dirty ones for playing softball or working outside.
Someone once asked my wife what it would take for me to help coach the middle school baseball team. She said “Just give him a hat, he’ll be happy.” Darned woman knows me well!
I have between three and five. All fitted MLB caps. None of those adjustable backs for me. I hardly wear them, I keep them as souvenirs. There’s one from the 90s that I really regret not buying. It was a Colorado Rockies cap with a built in AM/FM radio. It had its own earbuds and a little antenna that stuck up in the air. It would have been perfect for attending games and listening to the play-by-play on it.
I voted between three and five, because I have a few that were giveaways, plus one nice San Francisco Giants cap.
OTOH, my father and my brother probably each have 30-50. My father wears a cap very frequently. He works for various athletic organizations and receives or purchases multiple championship caps every year. My brother is a collector, who keeps his caps organized and is always looking for ones that meet specific requirements.
At least 4 dozen, including about a dozen from an employer, & some from other events that I’ve worked on, 4 running hats, 4 NHL team ones, 1 or 2 NFL, a bunch of MLB hats. Some of them are nice ones & some are specifically grubby ones.
certainly more than 11, perhaps more than 25. Almost none of them have baseball logos. I have maybe 2-3 Cleveland Indians hats. Several with generic college logos (that is not specific to their teams, but they could be. I don’t really follow college sports most of these are given to me.
I wear them almost every day. In the summer they keep the sun off my head, and in the winter it’s not usually so cold I need more.
I have about thirty, none of which I actually purchased. They were all given to me.
I hardly ever wear one anymore though, preferring one of my broad brimmed hats to keep the sun off my ears and neck. I had skin cancer once and don’t want to do that again.
I’m at work, so I can’t count them up, but I own a lot. Most are baseball style caps, but without the reinforced front, similar in style to the Outdoor Research Swift Cap blondebear mentioned above (those are good looking hats). I always wear a hat outdoors, and sometimes indoors, and I have quite a large collection of hats of all kinds. My go-to hats are black OSU Beaver hats with the beaver logo on the front, or other all black hats. The only ones I own that are actual baseball caps are a Hanshin Tigers hat I got in Japan and a Seattle Mariners hat with the team name written in Japanese. I keep a hat in the glove box of all my scooters, and a spare one at work in my desk. I feel absolutely naked outside without a hat and don’t want to be caught without one.
