Launcher may train without warning.

I’m a huge Rush fan. Does that count for anything?

Eh?

Goddamn Canucks!

Take away hockey and beer and what have you got? A big zero.

And Celine Dion can’t sing even a little bit.

And I heard that Rush was originally from Argentina.

I’m from Moncton, NB, eh?

I once went to Loring AF Base, in Maine, and heard that some of the guys there didn’t know where Canada was… (Loring is about 15 minutes from the US/Can. border)

I’ll just leave it at that…

I enjoy every minute of it!

Suburb of Toronto here.

Okay, okay.

Toronto. Alderwood area. You know, Brown’s Line and Evans.

Not like that rich guy drollman.

Nova Scotia on my father’s side.

Here’s something weird; everywhere I’ve been in Canada (which includes most of it) a small-to-medium percentage of her beer-drinkers drink it with tomato juice, sometimes even clamato juice. Some bars in northern Ontario, you had to ask specially to not get your pilsner “red”. I’ve done it, and it’s really quite good.

But I mentioned it to a Cambridge, ON native and he claimed to have never heard of it. Ditto a Vancouverite, a fellow from Calgary, and a Halifax native. My own father has somehow developed either a sense of humor or a total amnesia about the subject.

Is this only a rural Canadian habit? Geez, and I thought it was as Canadian as poutine, hockey, and a new PM in BC every two years.

I figure that this is as good a place as any for my first post.
I’m in NW Ontario.

London, ON. Permanent add. Mississauga.
Suburbia eh?

By the jeez, I’m half Canadien (on my fadder’s side) so dat’s gotta count for sumtin, eh? And with all these dopers in the Toronto area when are you going to have a get together? I live on the south side of the lake but I could make a day trip.

Not Canadian, but I figured as long as you were here, I’d ask something I’d been wondering about. I’ve heard many Canadians speak, and none of them sound like Celine Dion. Is that really a Canadian accent?

No, that’s a French-Canadian accent, and she can’t sing much, either.

GBS fish:

That’s pretty suspicious. Are you claiming Port Arthur/Thunder Bay is NW? Or are you claiming that there really is a NW Ontario? I have always held that NW Ontario is somewhat like North Dakota: the name exists, but there isn’t really any such place.

What’s the deal with her, anyway? I remember her singing for Switzerland, of all places (No offence, Arnold), for the Eurovision Song Contest in the late 80’s. So what is she? A Canuck? A Swiss? Why the switch?

And, no she doesn’t sing all that good. Although she will never be able to make me run for the toilet as fast as Mariah Carey can.

To make big bucks. Now that she’d made money, I wish she’d shut up.
