I had the nice ‘Charter Member’ title under my name when we first switched to a pay site. I disappeared for a while, and when I came back I couldn’t regain my old title. Just a ‘member’ now. I am not worthy.

Here’s the list of posters to this thread. There are 96 names, of which six (TubaDiva, Sapo, Muffin, Braniac, cckerberos, I_Know_Nothing) are non-Charter Members. samclem and twickster are both moderators and Charter Members; offhand I’m not sure if SkipMagic and tomndebb are also a Charter Members. (I am not a Charter Member, having been SDSAB when the board went pay). So the count I get at this point is between 88 and 90.

Thanks, Colibri, but that doesn’t come close to answering my question. Any Admin and probably any Mod depending on how the permissions are set up can easily find this out by doing a very simple sort on the Membership List. Most Charter Members aren’t going to bother posting here and a significant number won’t even know about this thread.
Tuba already knows or can easily find out. As she said, she needs to seek permission from her management before she can tell us. I trust that she’ll be back with an answer as soon as she knows and that the answer might be, “I’m not allowed to release that information.”
Wow, that’s some memory you got there! As a matter of fact, I did go out for beer and wine, and I got some. But then I stopped by home to see if they needed anything, and all hell broke loose, so I started drinking the beer and wine. Then my older two daughters brought some folks over, and they started drinking the beer and wine, and now there’s nothing left for you guys.

Okay, if anyone realllllllly wants to know the answer to this, here’s how.
We know there are 84,604 members, former members, etc. So all you need to do is run a search on member.php from 1 to 84,604.
Then dump the records in a database and filter for Charter Member status.
Of course that may not tell you of the CMs who are still active, but you could search for last post and that would give you an approximate idea.
Yep. And you can collect it right after you attend the (approximately) 90-minute presentation about Cecil’s House O’ Brains and Smarts Members Only Resort.
