Three. Oven clock, Microwave and themostat. All the rest reset themselves except for the livingroom wall clock which will finally be right from last spring and the car clock which will be wrong until next spring.
Crap I forgot the Thermostat. I might need to print up a list.
Digital wristwatch
Digital alarm clock
Digital clock in living room
Stove (analog)
Cell phone (I do it myself because it’s a couple of minutes off when done automatically)
Not quite clocks, but still have to be changed:
Answering machine
A PC scheduled task for listening to Radio Australia webcasts
I also have a Sony AM/FM/shortwave radio with a digital clock. I leave it on UTC, but that’s just habit because now I listen to webcasts instead.
2 alarm clocks in the bedroom (digital)
3 watches between the husband and me (analog)
My binary clock
An analog clock on the living room wall
Microwave (digital)
Stove (analog)
Kitchen radio (flip a switch to turn DST on or off)
2 car clocks
plus a clock in my classroom monday morning
So, 6 will be hard to switch, 7 not so tough
None. We don’t believe in that cutting-off-one-of-a-string-and-tying-it-on-the-other nonsense.
Actually, Arizona–at least where all the people live–opted out of the whole DST thing for a good reason. In summer the sun is up way past 7:30 as it is. The last thing we want in July is that bloody sun still up in the evening. When it sets is when we can start actually doing things outdoors in more or less comfort.
Fortunately, I don’t have many. Both of my computers, my main PDA, my smartphone, and my digital cable box are all aware of savings time changes and do them on their own. That leaves:
- iPod (though I don’t know if it does it as I haven’t carried one through a time change)
- Watch
- DVD player
- Microwave
- Two cordless phones
- Clock in the bedroom
- Digital camera (not exactly important since I never time-stamp my photos anyway)
See, this is what I don’t get about us here in Florida, either. As it stands, in the depth of summer, the sun’s last gleaming finally disappears after 9, thanks to DST. Feh on the whole thing.
I will have to adjust:
alarm clock beside bed (X2)
microwave clock
dash clock in truck
answering machine
The cable box, XM radio receiver, computer and cell phone will all adjust themselves.
This is why I hate DST, coming and going.
3 Bedroom Clocks
2 Cars
1 Microwave
1 Stove
1 Kitchen Radio
1 Kitchen Wall
2 TV Clocks
2 Basement Clocks
2 VCRs
2 Watches
1 Family Room wall Clock
1 Living Room Anniversary Clock
Nineteen!
I’m a little compulsive about knowing what time it is, so I have a clock in every room. So that gives:
-my alarm clock
-living room clock
-bathroom clock
-kitchen clock
-stove clock
-watch
-Hamish’s clock
And let me tell you, when DST goes away, it gets freaking dark in this province. So much so that it’s been suggested that we join Atlantic Time so we’ll have the extra afternoon sun year-round.
My bedside clock has a handy “DST” button - one press, and it switches to/from daylight saving, with a little symbol on the display to remind you. All appliances with clocks should have that button. Especially those bastard clocks which only allow you to move the hands or digits forward.
I don’t have very many, just seven:
Three wristwatches
Oven thermometer/timer
Microwave
Two alarm clocks
The computer and cell phone set themselves.
I’ve just done all mine, so I would like to amend my answer to zero.
Absolutely none. Like Arizona, Saskatchewan doesn’t change. So all we have to do is try and remember what time our TV shows are on now.
Wall clock
Arrgh. Stupid tab button.
Wall clock.
Alarm clock.
Watch.
That’s all.
alarm clock.
Pocket watch.
The rest flash 12:00 all the time, except the ones I put black tape over. My wife gets annoyed and sets the stove and microwave herself.
Well, let’s see… I think my roommate will get the microwave, since it’s his microwave and I don’t know how (I could probably figure it out, but I don’t want to)
Then there’s my alarm clock.
And my four watches. The two on each arm.
This is the only instance where Arizona is progressive and liberal…wish Nevada would join in that party and just forget about moving clocks, although I think starting next year, the entire US moves the clocks forward two weeks earlier and one week later in the fall? A step in the right direction.
To answer the question:
DVR, DVD recorders, bedroom and kitchen clock, computer and cell phone all change without me touching them.
That leaves:
Microwave
Gas oven
Water sprinkler system
Heater/Airconditioner timer
Pool pump
Malibu lights
Bathroom clock
Pocket watch
Televison(s) timer/clock
Car clocks
Garage clock
Answering machine
By the time I am finished, it is almost time to reset them for spring.
