An intriguing question from Stack Overflow:
As most of us know, a US citizen living in another country still has to file and pay taxes in the US. I’m fascinated by the exercise of trying to maximize the number of countries one might have to pay taxes in. The one answer given so far comes up with a plan for 13 countries.
Caveat: The number is effectively unbounded because owning a residence gets you a tax burden in most countries, so for purposes of the exercise that strategy is limited to just one country.
