How many dollars does one need to enter the ranks of "super-rich"?

How much money, in absolute terms, does one need in order to be called “super-rich”?

$1,000,000?

$10,000,000?

$25,000,000?

Sorry, moderator - could you move this to IMHO? Thanks.

I’d say for the 1M, it would depend on your age. If you were like 60 and have 1M, you’d be rich. But if you’re like 18, it wouldn’t last long, even if it was spent conservatively. Of course you could make wise investment decisions. I would say 10M would make you super-rich by many peoples standards.

The answer is, “More than you have now”

Ok, seriously I think it depends on your refference. Here is a report from '96 which places those individuals making over 120k yearly off the scale when compared to the total population. So they’re super-rich when compared to the masses, but probably not when compared to Mr. Gates.

I guess its subjective, but my sister works in the yachting industry and they (in general terms) consider the super rich to be people who own their own yacht and are able to afford to maintain a yacht and crew year round but doesn’t include people who charter them for a week etc.

You’re “super rich” when you have so much money that your accountants can’t figure out how much you’re actually worth.

Be worth $1,000,000 does not mean as much nowadays, although “millionaire” is still fixated in our collective consciousness as a distinction. I would say that is more along the lines of “well off”. It would take more zeros than that to be considered “super rich”.

$20, to bribe the doorman.

Breast size.

Oops, sorry, I was thinking about the distinction between models and super models.

What is 1 billion dolars, Alex.

I’d say when you have enough money to pay cash for whatever you want, whether it’s a pedicure or a private jet.
