How Many Dopers Remember the 1930's?

I just read the book “SEABISCUIT”-it’s an excellent read! I was also intrigued by the fact that you could write a best seller, about an event that took place 70 years ago! (The author had to interview men in their 90’s to write the book!).
Anyway, how many dopers remember:
-(US) national prohibition? (and Ellit Ness shooting up Chicago?)
-Hitler and WWII
-the “NRA” (that funky blue eagle that appeared in 1930’smagazine covers
-the attack on Pearl Harbor

How many people are alive today who were young adults in the 1930’s?

Being a fan of silent film (Chaplin in particular), I’d love to hear any stories anybody may have in that realm.

You do know that Eliot Ness was the good guy? He wasn’t “shooting up Chicago”. And that the attack on Pearl Harbor wasn’t in the 1930s?
