How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

When come back, bring light bulb.

Somebody had to say it…

1 person to start a BBQ thread pitting people who feel the need to post about such mundane things as changing lightbulbs.
15 people in the pit thread to turn the thread into a pit on the pitter.
3 people to defend the pitter.
1 person to wish harm on someone in the thread
1 moderator to warn that person
6 people to go off on a tangent about the poster that was warned.
1 elucidator to post something funny.

Ah, they’re 1920s style death bulbs.

1 to post “All your light bulbs are belong to us.”

3 to insist that fluorescent lights are more eco-friendly and will help to prevent global warming.

6 to insist that there is an unquestionable consensus among scientists that the bulb must be replaced by a fluorescent light as quickly as possible to avert catastrophe.

1 to make some insane connection between the OP and Hitler and/or the Nazis.

1 to say “Hi, Opal!”

1 to point out that the OP cites an editorial and is therefore not a valid reference.

3 to deconstruct the term “light bulb” and insist the use of that term shows the author of the OP clearly does not know what he is talking about.

If it’s one of those wingtip marker lamps, and it’s while the airplane is in flight, you’re earning it.

Did the light bulb want to be changed, or are you projecting your own bias’ into the bulb’s situation? You say it “needed” to be changed, why? Does it make you uncomfortable to view a light that is less than perfect?

Dim Bulb Syndrome is a real and increasing social issue. Poke around the SDMB and you will see that is affecting a large percentage of posters.

Moving to Great Debates.

Wow! My first whoosh!

It depends on which forum dopers you ask:

About this Message Board: You don’t change the light bulb, the moderators do.

General Question: “One” followed by “cite?”

Great Debates: One to change the light bulb, two to start the BBQ thread and a moderator to lock the Great Debate thread

Cafe Society: one

Games Room: One, but he must first make roll 1d20 and add his Dexterity against a DC of 10 to change the light-bulb.

IMHO: One, to start a poll; five to complain that the poll-starter left out many other valid options, one to say the poll is meaningless.

MPSIMS: One to start the thread “And so, one day I decide to change a light-bulb”

BBQ Pit: One to suggest changing the light bulb, thirty required for the pile on.

You folks rock.

That is all.
