Last movie I saw at the theater was Mr. Magoo. Mommajesus and I don’t go to the movies much. Babyjesus didn’t change it. I figured it’s just as good to wait until something comes out on video and spend 1/2 of what I would have spent at the show and own it forever. With that said, I bought 2 movies last year.
I’d guess about 20 a year in the theatre, I would go to more movies, but we only have one theatre in town and they change their movies once a week

I say that I see about 150 in a year
at the theater, on video and on DVD.
I probably see around 200 a year, most of them on video, to try to stay caught up with everything I’ve missed.
I peaked in the eraly 80’s when I lived in Hollywood and there were about two dozen theatres within walking distance. Including first runs, revivals, and misc art & foreign, I probably saw 200-250 a year. Nowadays, stuck out in Generica with no “art” or revival houses, if I see 10 a year at the theatre and another 20 on video, it’s a lot.
At the theater? 40.
On DVD and VHS? (which includes rentals and ones I own) 100.
On TV and cable? 40.
The last movie I saw in the theater was, uhm, The Blair Witch Project. I’ve probably only been to the theater 5 times total in the last 4 years.
If you add rentals + TV, maybe 30 a year.

Hmmm, 52 weeks a year, a movie at least twice a week, that would be 104. And that’s not counting the movies I rented. Though, it’s gotten to the point that if it’s not in the theatre, I don’t want to watch it.
In theaters, somewheres around 100 a year, I’d say.
But most of that comes from the two or three film festivals that I try to attend each year. Last year I did Chicago and Seattle, about 30 films at each…
The number would be higher if I also counted VCR…
Maybe five, if that. And that’s a generous count.
OTOH, if you count watching Lawrence of Arabia twice (on TV) as two movies, criminy . . . several hundred. And let’s not even TALK about movies on TV (IOW, not a video but with commercials and such), else we’re talking 500 movies a year. Easy.
100-120 a year in the theatre. Another 100 or so at home on DVD/tape, cable, whatever.
Um, do I have no life?
Oh, no, that’s right, I do. I just also do this.
I go to at least 1 movie a week, sometimes 2.
I go to maybe 1 or 2 a year. I rent a lot, tho.
I didn’t know that there were that many movies released in theaters every year.
I see about one every four weeks (Fall to Spring) but one every week or two during Summer. That’s roughly 15 movies in theaters every year. Sounds right.
I see about 15-25 movies, in theaters, per year.
