The current controversy over Senate Democrats filibustering (some few of) Bush’s judicial nominees reminds me: I remember news reports from the first couple of years of the Clinton Administration to the effect that there was a shortage of judges on the federal bench, in part because a lot of nominees were bottled up (presumably, by Republicans) in committee. How did that turn out? Were all his nominees ultimately confirmed, or were some blocked entirely? How many? And were any blocked by filibuster? Or was it all just committee politics?
I think we just had another thread about this.
Yes – http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=312734&highlight=clinton – but it produced no actual answers. I’m trying again and framing the question in more specific terms.
That’s the number who didn’t even get a committee hearing.
Not 62%…just 62.
