How many of you know..

what? How anti-climatic. Mega, we insist that you come up with a better definition to satisfy the more purient of us.

wimming Riddles, “bubbler” caught me by surprise, and my wife, too. we both moved here from NJ. Of course, it’s pronounced “bubblah” by the people who still say it, which adds to the confusion.

From the fact that you don’t know it, I assume it must be dying out. "Bubbler didn’t make much sense as “water fountain”, but i understood it better once I encountered one of those Poland Spring water coolers with the big plastic jug on top.

“Blurp!!!”

A sweatshirt? NO NO NO. A bunnyhug is what bunnies do before they make little bunnies. There. :D:D

Here in central North Carolina, ski masks are traditionally called “toboggans”, as in “the bank robber was wearing a toboggan”. Some northerners complained about this, but the local newspaper decided to continue to use toboggan instead of ski-mask.

See, for example, City of Raleigh | Police Department | Wanted Persons where the first entry description includes: He was last seen wearing a dark toboggan…

Well, I’m a bubblah usah. I’ve lost, or never had, much of my Boston-ness since moving to the mid-west (shudder) But I still can’t shake bubblah. Gets giggles whenever I say it. Sometimes I say it just to spite em.

BTW: Bubbler, Bubbler, Bubbler, Bubbler, Bubbler, Bubbler, Bubbler.

Canadian Tire Money, darn it!

What is Canadian Tire Money (that is in all your Canadian kitchen drawers accoring to the above link)???

      • There was this oh-so-cute song that came out a few years back (I don’t remember who it was that sang it) called “Butterfly Kisses”, which was said to refer to the brushing of one’s eyelashes as they kiss another on the cheek. The song was the guy singing about his young daughter. - Locally we got a few laughs out of it, because a “butterfly kiss” wass not something you’d do to your own daughter, and giving butterfly kisses to underage girls can get you into a jail cell for a loooong time.
( -sorry if you liked that song, but how’s that for perverted?) - MC

Hey Cher3, I know what a search engine is, I can use a search engine, and DID use a search engine to find an answer to this question AND I posted a link to the site I found AND excerpted some text from that site.

So yes, at least one of us besides you can use a search engine.

Any more questions?

stuyguy - Canadian Tire Money is something you get when you make a purchase at :: drumroll :: Canadian Tire. The bills range from .05$ to 2$ and are redeemable at any time, at any location.

MC - A butterfly kiss is when you flutter your eyelashes on someone’s cheek. There is no actual kissing involved.

Ah, and if you don’t know what Canadian Tire is, it’s more or less a hardware store that carries some other things, such as sporting equipment, as well.

I didn’t know what it was till I read this thread… and I’m from Alberta. I’m gonna start using that term now though. Thats soo much better then pullover.
