How many people here can get 100% on this quiz?

I’m taking a technical writing class; my professor wants us to write a letter of complaint. I wrote one last semester fora a business writing class. Can I submit the same work for my new class?

Is this something I should ask my current professor?

Crap. Meant to post the above in GQ.

Sorry guys.

I got a 47 out of 147. And the ones I got are because I have a friend who lives in Liberia, so I know that one, a few of the surrounding countries, and the ones that most everyone knows.

I need to work on my Africa knowledge.

Sorry, Gazelle, but posting a reply in the wrong thread costs you one, so your score’s only a 46.

34  hangs stupid head in stupid shame

Wow, 74. I guess that geography class I took two semesters ago sure didn’t stick with me (although I did better than if I had not taken the class).

94 out of 147. I could do better a year ago, but I haven’t kept it up.

And I was tricked out of one country: they called it Republic of Congo, while it is Congo-Brazzaville.

As soon as I saw it was an African quiz, I closed the page. There could get Egypt and a few others, but that would be it. Not worth wasting my time at work for.

Can anyone tell me where the Island of Rand McNalley is located? :stuck_out_tongue:

42/147.

Except for the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, and Southern African countries, I don’t know a thing about the continent.

53… which is embarassing, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I was only really certain about South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Madagascar, Mozambique, and Uganda.

  1. As a Geography buff, I’m mildly disappointed. Compared to most of the other posters here, however, I have no reason to hang my head.

OK, first off, I bet even the Presidents of Benin and Togo get 'em confused, right? “Oh, I’m sorry, am I governing your country again? Whoops!”

And I just sort of blanked on Guinea-Bissau.

OK, I’m a geography geek.

Ouch. 59 out of 72 on the Caribbean one.

  1. Africa is by far the hardest continent to do this with.

I gave up on Africa… i was doing poorly…
On asia i only got 64 out of 84 http://www.lizardpoint.com/fun/geoquiz/asiaquiz.html

Gazelle, I have to say your score sucks for someone who lives on “the Veldt!”

By the way, how far is that from Mpls.?

Well, no, the official name is Republic of Congo. It was easier to remember when it was the People’s Republic of Congo, aka Congo Republic. The former Zaire, or Congo-Kinshaha, has officially changed to Democratic Republic of Congo, aka the DRC.

They should have kept Zaire, it was less confusing. Personally, I prefer to use Congo-Brazzavile and Congo-Kinshasha, since it’s easier to keep straight, but those are informal names.

130+ I neglected to duly note my score before closing the window. i feel fairly proud of this result, all things considered. I’m especially pleased with myself for successfully finding Burundi, but then, I did have a cup of coffee with its president not so long ago.

That should be Republic of Congo, aka Congo Republic.

For lack of anything better to do, I did every test to show I’m not a total idiot (except in African [and Carribean] geography), here’re my scores:
[ul][li]78/84 Asia (93%)[/li]
[li]42/147 Africa (29%)[/li]
[li]36/39 Canada (92%)[/li]
[li]99/111 Europe (89%)[/li]
[li]19/24 Australia (79%)[/li]
[li]83/87 Middle East (95%)[/li]
[li]12/72 The Carribean (17%)[/li]
[li]37/39 South America (95%)[/li]
[li]42/42 Central America (100%)[/li]
150/150 United States (100%)[/ul]

  1. I used to know all of them when I was in junior high school, but oddly I don’t use my geographic knowledge much so it goes away. Happily there were a few that I didn’t have to guess on.

I must report that the map for the caribbean quiz is wretched.
