How many people here have their own car

1990 Nissan Maxima – kind of a beater these days, but still much fun to drive.

1996 Buick Regal – the family sedan. Boring. (soon to be replaced with a '95 Century w/ only 18K miles on it – little old lady only drove it to church on Sundays).

1997 Ford Ranger – What I usually drive. Don’t know how I ever survived without a truck.

95 Ranger, extended cab but bought before the half doors were optional, sadly. At least it’s paid for and bright yellow! Just now starting to give me the occassional maintenence issues, to date I’ve replaced the trans cable that runs up the steering column and a window handle that broke. Not bad for 9 years.

I’m desperately waiting for Ford to bring out the Escape with the hybrid engine, they’ve been promising it for over a year and I so want one!

I’m driving a 1990 Geo Metro convertable LSI. It only has 2 seats and did I mention it’s a converatable? It can get 42 MPG, but usaully only gets 38-40, 34-36 if I have the top down.
I’m driving it because it’s a good economy car and it’s a convertable. There is no public transportation around here.

No public transportation here so,

I have a '98 Chevy Silverado Z71

My GF has a '03 Cavalier LS

I drive a '86 Celica GTS with 197,400+ miles as my daily beater.

'91 Dodge Dakota 4x4 extended cab. It started life as a NYSGE truck(NY state gas and electric) Has had a small electirc problem since I got it in 96. I love the truck but miss the milage that I got with my previous vehicle. 81 Honda Civic S/W. Miss that one.

What is this “public transportation” you talk about?

Me: 98 Dodge Ram 1500 loaded with all the siren/light goodies necessary for my job.

Mrs. Jockey: 2002 Ford taurus with a spoiler and moon roof (ooo, sporty)

I’m on the hunt for a basket case jeep and a decently priced bike.

2000 Toyota Sienna. Yup, that’s a minivan.

But for a family of 6 (That’s me, hubby, and 4 kids) we just have the one car. My husband bicycles to work.

Sometimes it’s a pain and I wish we had another small one (a Ford Festiva would do!), but it works out just fine most of the time.
