How many resolutions have you broken already in the MMP?

Up, caffeinated, off to work. Hockey after work. It’s 14 still.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 20 Amurrkin (up from the low of 18) and cooooooooooold outside, with a predicted high of 39 for the day. ICK! Don’t like it at all. Come on Summer!

flytrap if she takes N.O.L. to work, slip the roach in whatever she takes it in.

:: Digs “No Snow” sign outta doggio’s yahd, re-cements it in my yahd, and guards it with a hoarde of PSWSLPNS ::

OK, that’s all I got. I need to go make brekkie for us and also get more caffeine. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

The garage is attached, but he’s working on his bike in the basement. The same basement where the dryer and its associated vent are located. And if we hadn’t placed the washer and dryer on a platform, I’d be able to move it and clean the damned vent myself, but there’s no way I’m going to rassle that thang down to the floor.

Speaking of motorcycles, guess what we’re doing on Saturday. rah. :stuck_out_tongue:

It was 8° when I let Higgs out this morning. She made an immediate right turn into the leaves next to the garage door, squatted, then came right back in. No exploring today!! I even turned on the furnace to take the chill out of the bedroom while we were getting showered and dressed - brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Today is designated launder the unders day and file the pile of papers on my desk day. I was thinking about baking a couple of punkin pies, too, in the interest of warming the kitchen, you know.

Winter sucks.

Happy Thursday!

Pffft. Wimps. I’m sitting at 0 here in the high country.

Off to warm up the car!

Blurf. Went to the gym again today, and as usual, everything hurts now. It’s really disheartening to find out just how much muscle I’ve lost. I’m firmly in the Hans und Franz Girly-man[sup]tm[/sup] range. At least I’m still meaner than a rattlesnake on PCP…

On the way to the orifice after working out, I spotted a pack of brass monkeys holding their crotches and running down the street screaming in terror.

10 F.
Jesus, Mary and Joe Cocker.

With multiple layers, 2 blankets, the radio, books, and a sleeping pill, I slept pretty well last night.
“In the springtime seed is sown,
In the summer grass is mown,
In the autumn you may reap,
Winter is the time for sleep.” - W.S. Gilbert

I’ll get to doing the laundry soon.

The thermometer in the sun reads 14°. So there’s that. Higgs just went out - we’ll see how long she lasts…

I’ve cleaned the cat box and started assembling stuff for punkin pie. I think I shall run to Food Lion before I start baking.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s 6 degrees outside, but the sun is bright and the sidewalk is dry so all is good.
This living room stays too cold though. Sah-son’s room stays warm, when he opens the pocket doors you can feel the difference.
We’re debating moving the dog’s bed to his room because the dog was shivering in his sleep yesterday evening.

I should do some laundry today, and the dog needs a bath.

Thank you Swampy Doggio and Ruble.
I didn’t know you had a voodoo doll Doggio, pull it out if you can.

**Hugs, Yays, Boos, Pats-on-Back, Smacks-Upside-Heads, yums, and a smattering of eeeeewwwww! Please distribute as needed.

seems like it’s needed.

OK – there I am on your side. Riding is great, talking to other riders over a plate of food is great. Looking at bikes and stuff is like watching golf or bowling on TV – I would rather sit and watch my lawn grow.

It’s so cold – How cold was it? – its so cold I saw a bird dunking his worm in Prestone!

(we still miss ya, Johnny)

Ice cream cake is best served cold; therefore, revenge is ice cream cake?
My morning routine was interrupted at one of the early steps today & thus consisted of the following:[ul]
[li]Get up[/li][li]Go into bathroom[/li][li]Turn on water for shower [/li][li]Start to take off PJs (while shower water warms up)[/li][li]Re-turn on shower water since it didn’t come on.[/li][li]Utter some epithets at [del]Polar Vortex[/del] builder, while putting PJs back on, for using spit & chewing gum, used chewing gum as construction materials & the architect who put the water pipe in the worst possible place in the house he could. [/li][li]Go get the electric pipe heater (aka hair dryer).[/li][/ul]
I had decided to give up & was going to drive into irk only long enough to grab my 'puter & irk from home when there was a huge noise of the water flowing. Space heater has been located in the basement & is now where pipe comes into house so all should remain “flowing”. I [del]don’t mind[/del] like irking from home, but it kinda defeats the purpose if you have to go into the orifice first.

When I got into the (garaged) car, the thermostat read 34°; after driving only 1k (that 6/10 of a mile for you non-convertin’ Amurikin types) it had dropped to 22°! Predicted high in the teens° with wind-chills in the negatives. Also noticed that the river was mostly ice where there was none yesterday!

Only to the dull and unimaginative.

I found some gloves and went to Food Lion, only to discover that, of all things, they were having refrigeration problems in a number of their food cases. Beef and pork were OK, but I went for the chickie tits that were on sale, and the chicken case was empty. Oh well. I got a few things, and now I’m home - duh.

I’ve got 2 punkin pies in the oven and it’s smelling really good in here! When I just let Higgs out, the temp was all the way up to 20°!! I think I’d better gather up the laundry and venture to the depths of the frosty basement and get a load of unders done. We don’t want to run out of unders.

Maybe lunch first.

I love my house, the longer I’m in it the more I like it.

However I am also figuring out that this house was designed for tall skinny people and I am neither. I have lots of storage, over half of which I can’t reach

I’m also not very observant. I’ve been here how long now? and I just noticed the metal rod on the wall by the front door. In my defense I hardly ever use the front door but still. It’s for opening the transom window, which I had noticed, but never though about how to open it. I’m not going to test it now, knowing my luck I would get it open and not be able to close it.

Time to get my ass in gear. Just got off irk and I need to eat something and get some houseirk done.

I heard that last night over here, with the wind, it felt like minus 40 degrees. Which is the same in Fahrenheit and Celsius.

I’m wearing 2 shirts and 2 pairs of pants and am thinking of putting on a hoodie or something else as well.

It was 4 freakin’ degrees F when I left for irk this a.m. The truck never did get to be toasty during the 32 mile commute. Now I’m having a bad hair day from the winter hat. Looks like I may have to get out the wool berets that look good worn all day.

Happy Elvis’ birthday!

You need a small step stool. We’ve got several in various places around the house because we use them a lot. I can’t reach the top shelves in the bedroom closets without a stool. Nor can I reach the top shelves in the kitchen cabinets. The stools are very handy. And the ones that fold up are great, because they can be tucked away easily.

Pies are done and laundry is almost ready for the dryer. I’m going to do something with chicken for supper.

Still haven’t attacked the papers that need sorting and filing.

We’re around 7 below with the wind. The Old Wench did something she almost never does - closed the heavy drapes on all the windows. That is what passes for a “brass monkey alert” in our family.

You have to shop around for them a bit and be fussy and not overpay to folks who think they are “collectable” but --------- the Hirsh Tool Stool

is FANDAM TASTIC!!!
We keep one on each floor of the house. They are small, easy to tuck away, and will hold 400 pounds easy. Great for those top closet shelves and other places things become hidden that don’t need a full ladder; even a small one.

PS – a cousin worked for a ladder maker near Wilkes-Barre PA. They had to stop producing their little 3 foot model and everything else smaller. Why? Not enough surface space for all the court-ordered and government required warning labels.

‘Tis 32 Amurrkin out as I post which makes it down right balmy in comparison to where some of y’all are. I’m sure there’s a wind chill factor as well, but I ain’t lookin’ it up cause I don’t wanna know.

I didn’t mention this earlier, but, today is OYKW’s bday. As per usual we are doin’ nuttin’ as we don’t exactly celebrate bdays and such. However, the birthday boy gets to choose dindin. Thus tonight dindin is pancakes, link snausages, and scrambled aigs. Oh, and birthday boy gets to pick out the cake, but he’s decided to wait until JDD and Partner are back in town so’s we can have a boys night in with cake. The cake shall be an ice cream cake from DQ (that’s Dairy Queen, not Drama Queen). I didn’t even have to ask what kind of cake, I already knew the answer.

Ok, back to irk.
