How many servings are there in a container of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream?
1/2
3 for me, 1 for my husband. I hide mine between servings to ensure it survives
Then I have another serving.
2, sometimes 3
- You open the container and throw away the lid. It has served it’s purpose.
I am with Antinor01 on this.
That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
My roomie can pack ice cream away like no tomorrow …
I remember being in a test market for chocolate splenda sweetened tofutti that was as good as ben and jerries chocolate … I really wish it had hit the market, I would go for that every time i get a dessert with dinner
sigh
No option for six? A container of Ben and Jerry’s will provide (at least part, and often all, of) pudding for both of us for three nights.
I posted ‘three’, but honestly, when I buy ice cream as pricey as Ben and Jerry’s, I tend to buy those little, bitty cartons that even come with their own spoon, that are designed to be one serving.
Otherwise, I buy mid-range quality ice cream that is on sale.
My father, God rest his soul, for the last twenty years or so of his life put away a half-gallon of ice cream every two nights (and that was back in the day when a half-gallon of ice cream was really a half-gallon of ice cream!)
I haven’t bought a B&J pint in at least 15 years, because I cannot not eat it all in one sitting. Or standing.
I normally try for two out of each container which is easier to do when there is someone to share with otherwise it can turn into one very easily. Of course that is why I haven’t had ice cream in my house for a year and a half it’s bad juju for my diet.
I said 4. That is probably being a bit generous. It might be more like 5 or 6. I am not really into ice cream. My SO, however, will pack away a pint in no time. He loves ice cream.
Most often 2. 3 if I’m trying to be good.
I don’t eat Ben and Jerry’s now, but I’ve had it a few times in the past. My ice cream/frozen yogurt consumption, though, goes something like this: Day 1, serving 1: Almost half the container (this is for small containers like B&Js). Day 2, serving 2: About half of what’s left. Day 3, serving 3: About half of what’s left from day 2. Mathematically, I think this could go on forever, right? But when there’s about a tablespoon or two left, I almost always throw it away because by that time I’m tired of it and don’t want more.
Having said that, I am presently on a no-corn syrup diet, which means most ice cream and even frozen yogurt is off limits. I’ve been eating the sugar-free kind, but it has sorbitol, which does not agree with my digestive system. And ice cream makes me fat. The whole thing is kind of sad, really.
Between four and six. Gotta spread out the ice cream goodness as long as possible. But not too long - then you have to move on to the next flavor.
I know I really should make it stretch, but the only way I can eat less than the whole carton is to make sure I’m already absolutely stuffed from dinner…
After licking it of course.
Someone at work saw mw open, lick and throw away the top of a B&J pint.
Him: Aren’t you going to save it?
Me: Whatever for?
Him: You’ll need it to cover what’s left.
I sat in stunned silence, finally saying “Who are you talking to? I’ve never had anything left from a pint of B&J in my life.”
How big a contanier?
Wow, I can’t friggin’ imagine a Ben and Jerry’s pint being ONE serving. Christ, that’s a lot of ice cream, sugar and fat.
I have a couple spoonfuls at a time as a treat.
